Additional Help for Tradies
This page is designed to help Tradies with additional information about each Subscription Listing field available in the Kiama Tradies directory.
NOTE: Some fields are only available via a Paid Subscription, hence although the field is described here, the field may not be available in FREE or SILVER subscriptions.
Listing owners can provide various details to help users of our platform make better-informed decisions.
The following details are available to all Listing owners, regardless of their Listing subscription.
- Business Name
- Description of Services offered
- Verified as a Kiama LGA business
- Trade Category
- Business Name
- Business Email Address
- Business Phone Number
- Location Suburb
Tip: The higher you move up within the Listing subscriptions, the more fields you unlock.
Searchable Listings
Kiama Residents can easily find what they are looking for, using various search and filter options, such as Locality, Category, Address and more.
We encourage Listing Owners to update their Listings as completely as possible, in order to extend their customer reach.
Explanation of each Listing Field
KEY: * = Required Field, F = Free Plan, S = Silver Plan, G = Gold Plan
Enter the name of your Business (52 characters or less).
SILVER & GOLD Subscriptions only
(OPTIONAL) Add a tagline to help draw attention to or identify your Listing and include any keywords if they fit naturally, as this is good for Search Engine Optimization (68 characters or less).
Enter a description to further highlight your business, including details of the products &/or services, that you offer. Again, you can include additional keywords that fit naturally in the description to help boost your SEO. (minimum of 20 characters)
You can write more than 20 characters if you wish to further highlight your business services.
When a Tradie “claims” a FREE Listing or pays for a Subscription, the Kiama Tradies Admin team will request for additional documentation to prove you are a resident of the Kiama Municipality. Once confirmed the blue Verified symbol will be added to the Listing. Any information provided to prove residence status remains confidential between the Business and the Kiama Tradies Admin team.
SILVER & GOLD Subscriptions only
An ABN Number indicates that the business has registered for GST in order to claim GST credits for any GST they have paid for goods or services you have used in their business.
By displaying your ABN on Kiama Tradies potential clients can see you are operating a legitimate business.
SILVER & GOLD Subscriptions only
In NSW anyone carrying out residential building work in excess of $1,000 (labour and materials) needs to be licensed. In addition electricians, plumbers & drainers, gasfitters plus anyone working on air conditioning/refrigeration also require a licence – regardless of the value of the work.
By displaying your Trade Lic# on Kiama Tradies potential clients can see you are properly licensed to carry out their work.

IMPORTANT: If you select multiple categories, the one you select first will become your primary category so be sure to select your primary category on the Kiama Tradies website.
Note: If your category is not available, please choose any category to get started and use our website’s Contact feature to let us know of the Category that you would like added to the Kiama Tradies website.

Enter your business hours for each day so your potential clients know your availability.
You can also select “Open all day” if you are available 24/7.

Currently, there are two options available:
- Available 24/7 if you are an emergency on-call business
- Seniors Discount if you offer a discount to our municipality’s numerous Senior Citizens

The “Featured Icon” is automatically assigned to Gold Subscriptions. Featured listings appear towards the top of the home page in a random order.
